The Consumption

It might be harder to find one that doesn‘t remind me of anyone, so for good measure, I decided to go with something that reminds me of two people.

First, former Fast Forward sales rep and all-around awesome lady Liz Collins and I bonded by belting this one out in her car on the way to lunch when it came up on the radio one day — few things cement a friendship faster than a completely unrestrained duet. I know, “cool story, bro.” What can I say.

Second, when Kris Ellestad married the lovely Sheika Luna, his “speech” at the reception was a karaoke version of this song, which was both unexpected and completely appropriate. Hopefully a video exists somewhere. I still think his idea of turning the outro into a continuous, ever-rising loop is brilliant, and needs to be done some day.

(And this is as good a place as any to mention that Kris’s outstanding No Man Is Land is back up and streaming on his Bandcamp site. He may take it down again some day, so give it a listen while you can. You will not regret it.)
